Or: Why, for the first time in quite a few years, I don't have a Halloween-centric story of some kind.
I really wanted to do something. I've been busy lately, sure, but I figured I'll just write it up today and have it as a nice surprise. Except that I'm on new medication that, among other things, makes me nauseated and fuzzy-headed and kind of uncomfortable being in my skin. In other words, I'm in no shape to write something that would be at all good enough for you all to read. I'm sorry.
I do have some Halloween stuff from years past, though. If you want Alice/Hatter, there's (in the order I wrote them) : A Mad Halloween, BtLS: Halloween, and BtLS: A Halloween Love Story.
If you just want something creepy/non-Alice/Hatter related, there's: Alone in the Jungle, Monster Under the Bed, and Hero and Villain. The last one is technically not a "scary" story per se, but I personally find it creepy in parts.
As for the status of "Beyond the Laughing Sky" itself...well, that's a subject for another post. I'll be busy all November with National Novel Writing Month, but once December rolls around, we'll all talk about it, okay?
Anyway, hope everyone has a fun (and safe) Halloween, especially everyone on the East Coast. If anyone's looking for me, I'll be the slightly ill-looking Jedi in the homemade costume, swinging around a lightsaber as I wait for trick-or-treaters ^_^

*brushes off dust*
Hey...so, I'm not sure there's anyone even still out there after all this time. I'm sure my few stalwart readers have long since moved on. But I felt compelled, after all this time, to at least give an explanation of why I disappeared for years. Well, explain at least some of it. Most of it is private and I don't really feel like discussing it. The short answer is that life got in the way, and my priorities shifted, and my health was not great for a while. And just as I was finally starting to get at least one or two things under control, life threw another curve ball and I was dealing with health issues regarding two family members, who both ended up passing away a while ago, within weeks of each other. I was helping to care for both of them in various capacities, so that took up a great deal of my time and almost all my mental and physical energy. So, now that I've gotten that out of the way, the question I know will be asked if in fact there's anyone still out there: Will I
Closed until Summer
Hey guys,
So, I was finally getting ready to put all my ducks in a row, and at least get some preliminary work done on the last chapter for this section of "Beyond the Laughing Sky." I really should have known better, because of course that would be when life decided to throw me a curveball.
The long and short of it is, I'm moving. And we have to be packed and out by the beginning of June. Still, I thought, when this all began in April, that gives me a few days window before the insanity of packing starts. Which meant of course those days I wasn't around, because we had to have the house tented for termites.
Look, my point is, I simp
A Serious discussion
I've been avoiding writing this post for quite a while. It isn't what I want to write, but what I know I have to.
First of all, I feel an apology is in order to you stalwart few who read "Beyond the Laughing Sky." I know the series has had a rocky road, at least schedule-wise. Believe it or not, I used to be much better at keeping to one. But that segues into my next point: When you're going to see more. And the only answer I can give is the honest one: I really don't know.
There's something you guys have to understand. I started this series as a collaboration with someone else, because I was getting burned out, writing my novel(s) an
Happy Holidays 2012!
Hey everyone!
Well, despite still having a lot to do before tomorrow (including wrapping, well...everything, yikes) and having a cold that has sapped all my energy, I simply couldn't skip my yearly Christmas fic. Oh believe me, I gave it some serious thought. But in the end I just couldn't do that to you dedicated few who enjoy my writing. So go check out "Tell me yet another Christmas story" the latest in what has become my favorite little series, though I didn't know it would become a series when I wrote the first one.
In addition, there are also my fics from years gone by. Starting with the oldest, there's: A Christmas Kiss, An Alice
